Could I be Pregnant.I have been using the Ortho Evra patch correctly?

I am wondering if I could be pregnant due to using herbal diet patches and the orth evra patch? I have a 1 year old son, and I never had these symptoms with him…..my symptoms are; last monday which was the 3rd day of my week 3 patch week I started spotting or lightly bleeding…nothing major just a little to hardly nothing…it lasted until saturday….which was the day I was suppose to remove my week 3 patch and be patch free for week 4….well it is monday again…and I have not started my “usual flow” period….could I be pregant? Oh, I only weigh 170…..I have not had any problems with the patch or my period until now…..and like I said I never had these symptoms when I was pregnant with my son…..I am taking a hpt test tonight to see if what it says….I am also not taking the birth control patch again until I start my period normally, just in case I may be pregant…..oh, another thing my husband and I had *** 3 times since my last period and none of the times, he ejaculated in me…does this change any of your opinions?

I doubt the diet patches have anything to do with this. Yes you could be pregnant as no birth control is 100% effective. Take a pregnancy test and if it is negative see your doc. Also remember the info I mentioned before that anytime you start a new herbal med or other drug you should check with your doc or pharamcist FIRST to be sure it is ok to take this with your current meds. Take the pregnancy test and then see or call your doc for his advice.
If you are using the patches properly and correctly, its highly unlikely that you are pregnant.
Effectiveness
The ORTHO EVRA birth control patch is 99 percent effective when used correctly. Clinical studies have compared ORTHO EVRA with birth control pills and found it to be equally effective.
I doubt your pregnant. With any hormonal method, you can have a fluctuation in your hormones which can make you spot. However, pregnancy can occur on the patch depending on someone’s weight. If you weigh more than 198, the patch can’t penetrate the body fat and there isn’t enough hormone to keep from releasing an egg. Some herbs can affect the Pill…St. John’s Wort is one. But I don’t think it will affect the patch because it’s metabolized in the body differently.
