How long does it take to become bald?

I know on average a person loses 100 a day but these are the ones i see and im sure there is alot more. I dont have any bald patches but you can sometimes see my scalp through the hair. I was wondering if anybody has been through something similar and how long it took for them to become bald. How can I help heal my cats sores from excessive licking?
